McCracken Chiropractic & Wellness Center is one of the most complete chiropractic facilities in the Seattle area. Our goal is to provide comprehensive personal care through a safe and healthy natural approach to medicine. Rather than treat the symptoms of pain, Dr. McCracken focuses on correcting the cause (typically, subluxations in your spine) and help your nervous system to perform at its best.
Your initial consultation with Dr. McCracken will likely be similar to those with any doctor. We will review your medical history and discuss your reasons for seeking chiropractic care.
Dr. McCracken will answer any questions and concerns regarding adjustments and discuss a care plan based on your particular situation. He will also go over the limitations and benefits of chiropractic care, and in most cases you will receive your first adjustment after the initial consultation.
Our Wellness Center also offers physical therapy, massage therapy, naturopathic care, acupuncture and rolfing. We also utilize the Graston Technique and a Recovery Pump as additional therapy tools in our office to help with muscle soreness and recovery.
Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR)
McCracken Chiropractic & Wellness Center is proud to offer this as another way to rehabilitate and build strength. Blood flow restriction training (or "occlusion training") is exercise where resistance exercise or aerobic exercise is performed while an occlusion cuff is applied to proximal aspect of the muscle. Limb blood flow is restricted via the cuff throughout the contraction cycle and rest period. This results in partial restriction of arterial inflow to the muscles, but, most significantly restricts venous outflow from the muscle. Given the lighter load nature and strengthening capacity of BFR training, it can provide an effective clinical rehabilitation stimulus without the high levels of joint stress and cardiovascular risk associated with heavy-load training. Dr. McCracken and staff will have a workout on hand for you to complete during your scheduled time. You will be monitored throughout the workout and given pointers / form corrections so you are doing everything properly and effectively.
